Non-Woven Finish MgO Board

MgO Board Wall Sheathing Applications

Wall sheathing selected as part of the complete framed-wall and weather-protection system.

Sulfycor non-woven magnesium oxysulfate boards are used for interior or exterior wall sheathing. Board thickness, framing, fasteners, joints, membrane, cladding and required performance must be reviewed together.

MgO Sheathing Board

System Fit

The Board Is One Layer of the Wall Assembly

A wall sheathing decision includes more than board thickness. The supporting frame, exposure conditions, joints, weather barrier, cavity and external finish all affect the specification.

Information We Review

01  Interior or exterior wall position

02  Wood or light-gauge steel framing

03  Board thickness, size and edge profile

04  Fasteners, joints and support spacing

05  Membrane, cavity, cladding and destination standard

Important Project Boundary

The MgO board is not a complete exterior weatherproofing system. Exposure, membranes, flashing, joints, cladding and installation details remain part of the wall design.

Ask for documents matched to the selected thickness and wall application.

Quality Evidence

Tested Board Performance You Can Review

Sulfycor board samples have independent reaction-to-fire and physical-performance test experience. Complete wall performance depends on the specified assembly and must be confirmed separately.

EN 13501-1Class A1 Result

Reaction-to-fire classification for the tested magnesium sulfate board sample.

ASTM E84FSI 0 · SDI 0

Measured flame-spread and smoke-developed results for the tested board sample.

AS 1530.1Non-Combustibility

Independent test documentation for the submitted chloride-free MgO board sample.

EN 12467Physical Performance

Relevant strength, durability, fixing and impact properties were evaluated.

Certificates & Test Evidence

Ask for the reports that correspond to the product type, thickness, intended assembly and destination market. Results apply to the tested sample or assembly.

Procurement FAQ

Questions to Confirm Before Quotation

Clear project information helps us match the board, available documentation and commercial quotation.

Can the board be used externally?

It can be specified as an exterior sheathing layer when the full weather-protection and cladding system is designed for the exposure.

Is an A1 board the same as a fire-rated wall?

No. A board reaction-to-fire classification is not the fire-resistance rating of a complete wall assembly.

What controls thickness and fixing?

Frame type, support spacing, wind and impact requirements, edge support, fastener type and the destination standard.

Can samples and reports be reviewed first?

Yes. Available sample and report scope is matched to the proposed board specification during technical review.
